The concept of the kollektivhus is quite simple – you have your own space, while still being part of a lively community! Everyone has their own apartment, with all the things you’d expect – own kitchen, bathroom etc. – but there are also big communal spaces where you can hang out with your neighbours and take part in community life.

We have all kinds of residents, including families, students, working people, and retirees, from all walks of life, and from many different countries. We work together to create a vibrant community, with weekly dinners, movie nights, craft sessions, fika and more.

about Us

We are a sustainable residence, located near Axel Dahlströms torg on the South side of Gothenburg. In our kollektivhus, we get to be part of a social community while also having the privacy of own homes when we need it.   Each household has its own fully equipped apartment, while the community shares a large garden (where we grow vegetables), a large kitchen and dining room, a movie/quiet room, a workshop and a laundry room.

Residents participate in collaborative activities such as shared meals, gardening, or hobby groups, giving us a sense of community and mutual support. Decision-making is often done collectively, and we strive to make sure we all get our voices heard.. 

The elected board members facilitate the overall structure of the community by taking care of admin, external collaborations, and official decisions. We also have several working groups that are open to anyone in the house, covering things like events, cooking, interior design, democracy and cooking.
